The tragic events in Japan have shifted international attention from the Libyan revolt, and, in silence, Gaddafi, feeling less under pressure, is regaining ground and driving off the rebels. All the strong statements against violence in the West in rais quell the internal revolt are now increasingly rare, the British plans to arm the rebels have been abandoned, the no-fly zones, to save the rebels bombed government, not be imposed, the U.S. ships stay away from the coasts of Libya and the pressure of the Obama leave the country because Gaddafi has been weakened. Gaddafi is recovering control of the country. What went wrong? Much, but mainly have been underestimated in many ways.
Compared to Tunisia and Egypt, in Libya revolt was much better armed and bloody, and the army remained here, outside of some defections from the Rais, who has, in fact, much, in terms of prestige and power.
